Ve will not open, or macOS refuses it
Ve is built for Apple silicon. On an Intel Mac, macOS will not open it at all, whatever version it is running. Check the Apple menu, then About This Mac. If the chip line says Intel, there is no build for you yet.”No supported browsers found on this Mac”
Ve knows Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, Arc, Dia and Comet by name, and finds most other Chromium-based browsers on its own. Safari and Firefox are not supported. If your browser should be found and is not, it has probably never been opened on this Mac, so there is no profile to read.”No open tabs found (is that browser fully closed?)”
Ve reads the session file your other browser last wrote. If that browser has never saved one, or the file is encrypted, there is nothing to read. Quitting the other browser first is worth trying, since it forces the session to be written. Ve reopens up to 40 tabs in one go.I imported my logins but sites still ask me to sign in
Reload the tabs. Cookies arrive in the background, and a tab that was already open is still showing its old, signed-out state. If a site still asks after a reload, it is one that ties a session to the browser it was created in. Those cannot be moved by any browser, and you will need to sign in once.Chat will not answer
Chat needs a model subscription. Browsing works without one; chat does not. OpenSettings > AI and connect ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, GitHub Copilot, Kimi or
Gemini, or paste an API key. See Connect a model.
Chat pauses before it sends, just after launch
Chat talks to a process that starts up alongside the browser. A message sent in the first moments after opening Ve waits for that process rather than failing. Give it a few seconds. If it never sends, quit Ve and open it again.Fn does nothing
Fn works inside Ve only until you turn on Global, so check you are in Ve when you press it. To use Fn in other apps, openSettings > Shortcuts and turn Global on. It asks
for three macOS permissions at that point; if any shows anything other than
granted, use the Grant button beside it.
Fn also stops working if you changed the key. Reset to Defaults puts it
back.
A permission says “Check in Settings”
Ve cannot read the current state. Access may well be granted already. macOS only reports back on Accessibility, Screen Recording, Microphone and Camera. For the rest, Ve shows this rather than a status it has not verified. Use the button beside the row to open the matching macOS pane and see for yourself.Password autofill does not appear
Check the login is saved underSettings > Password.
When Ve signs you in on its own it will only use a login saved for that exact
site, and ignores ones saved for related addresses. Filling it yourself is more
forgiving.
I cannot add anyone to my workspace
OpenSettings > Account first, then go to Members. Landing on Members
directly leaves the buttons inactive, even if you own the workspace.
This one is a bug on our side rather than anything you did. It is being fixed.
